Corruption in Nagaland

With increase in modernization, the society is getting worsened by 'greed'. Greed for money and to hold control over power. Majority is behind monetary profit whether it be a leader or a common man who is ever ready to brief the powerful.
The people over here are Hippocrates, those group of people speaks volumes for many evil things about any ongoing situation, update it on social sites but when it comes to real deal of protest of agitation they renounce and surrender.
Nagaland is never a bad society and not every Naga is wicked or corrupted, but the problem is they fear "Money and the Powerful people". Today we preach about how our land is tagged as "Nagaland for Chris" but think for a second. Do we really practice? The future of today's generations is at risk not because of those deprived leaders but because of the silence of good people. The love of world has made many people deplorable, on the other hand there are also small section of people who work with endurance to support their poor living with the word of God.
The present society has bought division, hatred, anger, patronizing among people because of the corrupted individuals. They tend to handle things very lightly and keep their own people in darkness.
As a student we always say and believe that we are leaders of tomorrow but let me tell you, we cannot relive and repair our past but we can bring a great change by being true to oneself and work for the peole with compassion in our hearts.
We should always consider other's problem earnestly and extricate ourselves from discrimination towards God's beautiful creation.
Today I want to ask, when we die, are we going to take our meterialistic possession? Not even a single penny as we all know, Alexander the Great who conquered the one-fourth of the whole earth, a mighty King died at an early age and his wealth could not save him. He said let there be two holes in the coffin to stretch his hands after his death so that people could know 'We Come Empty Handed and Go Empty Handed'.
We are all temporary travelers on this Earth, we don't have to extent our empire everywhere by cheating or robbing someone. Our permanent home is Heaven where our father God awaits our arrival.
Brothers and sister, I only want to urge "Let's make a change, let's change our mindset, let's free ourselves from the bondage of CORRUPTION".
Mr. S. SERFUDIN ALI

Definition of Morung(Bachelors' Dormitory)

Morung Etymology and Definition of Morung The Morung is a bachelors' dormitory. Many scholars try to bring out the root-word of Morung. Noted Anthropologist Haimendorf suggests that the word Morung is an Assamese origin. Naga writers, like Horam, Takatemjen and Rev. Yamyap suggest to it as an Ahom origin. According to Konyak's tradition the word Morung has been derived from the 'mis-interpretation' of one's vocabulary. It may be mentioned that Ahoms had a 'RANG-GHAR' in Sivasagar. This Rang-Ghar is the remain of the ruined Ahom palace and is still preserved and visible, see photos below: 'RANG' in Assamese means, name of game or play, 'GHAR' means, house, therefore, 'Rang-Ghar' means, game or play-house. That very Rang-Ghar had been used by Ahom Kings as both games and watch purpose. In the early centuries Ahoms and Konyaks had a good relation. There is a documentary proof that once an Ahom prince, ...

Nagaland, where are we heading to?

NAGALAND, WHERE ARE WE HEADING TO? Today, the word 'Corruption' is a  fashion maintained among many Government  officials, NGO's and different organizations,  so as to keep the pace with the new thing.  With fast scientific and technological  changes in this modern world, he  hunger  for money is on, people  are on the track to trace and compete  at seldom formed certain actions of  hatred, jealousy etc. towards each  other. Hence the traditional value  of honesty, sincerity, individuality,  togetherness etc have disappeared in  thin air. There is chaos, confusion,  disasters in all front. One lame the  other and the other blame the other. As a kid I grew up, my parents always  told me that evil deeds results in cures  and good deeds results in blessings.  Now I am thinking if this is really true  and is plausible and is relevant in our  prese...
