Aoleang Monyu(The Festival of Spring) | Konyak Naga | Nagaland

Hello friends!
I'm pleased to publish a video on my festival Aoleang Monyu.
.............................................................................................................
With the coming of Christianity in the late of 1932, the practices of ancient rituals and worships have been vanished in almost all the places in Konyak area.

The festival Aoleang Monyu however brings us back to remember and cherish our old system of traditions with new perspective of thoughts and lifestyle.

During the festival, one will hear the sound of elders singing their old folk song and dancing in their colorful Konyak attire.

The sound of gun shot, the beating of log drum are some of the beautiful sigh you will see during this time of season.

With the festival coming it brings forth the season of Spring where The Konyaks regard as their joyous season for their harsh survival of winter season.

According to Konyak's tradition the word Morung has been derived from the 'mis-interpretation' of one's vocabulary. It may be mentioned that Ahoms had a 'RANG-GHAR' in Sivasagar.
